The Incredibles Make Me Smile :)
First and foremost, Edna Mode. I have a strange feeling that most of this post will be about her. She is not exactly the "most important" character in the movie, but definitely my favorite. She really is just hilarious, I love how such a small woman can carry so much fire in her eyes. Which, of course, she literally does when she shows Elastigirl her outfit. Her face is like a fat kid in a cake shop. On fire. Plus, she is voiced by a guy, Brad Bird. Ok, I'm impressed. If you want to see the full cast/crew of The Incredibles, click here. Back to Edna. I constantly use her quotes, like when she slapps Elastigirl across the face with a newspaper - multiple times, I might add - telling her to pull herself together. Of course, I don't always have a newspaper on hand, so I sometimes just use rolled up math homework. Just kidding...maybe...ok next quote! In fact, I have a nice picture for this one:
I totally drew that. Ok, maybe not. I don't really have artistic talent. I also have better handwriting than that. I love this quote because no matter how much you screw up during your past, your future is an open adventure. There's no need to dwell on what happened, just move forward. Or, in Edna's case, it means I know I made that suit for you but now I'm embarrassed by it. Let's never speak of it again. Ok, next person. Jack Jack! The kid who can turn into a ball of iron or catch on fire and turn into a mini flaming devil whenever his parent aren't looking, but can't even swallow his food when they are. Funny kid. So, I watched the Jack Jack Attack extra video and wow, the kid can really handle himself. Especially considering his babysitter was Syndrome, his Dad's nemesis. His old man could really learn a thing or two from him. Speaking of which, Syndrome! He started out as Mr. Incredible's biggest fan back in his 'Glory Days", then when he was bullied by Incredible and kicked out, he went rogue. I have no clue if I'm using that word right, it just sounds right, so don't judge. Syndrome then actually turned from Buddy to Syndrome. He invented a bunch of intense gear so he could become a "super" hero. I really only like this guy because of his line in Jack Jack Attack when he says that the S on his suit stood for sitter, and he couldn't have don baby sitter because, well, BS. Even through I didn't even get to the actual super family, except of Jack Jack, I think that just those three are enough to make you smile :)

Lilo and Stitch Makes Me Smile :)
One of the most original shows ever created is about an outcast, orphaned Hawaiian girl and a fugitive shape-shifting alien. The girl's name is Lilo, she adopted the alien (who was disguised as a dog) and named it Stitch. And thus, Lilo and Stitch was born. Here is a link to IMDB Lilo and Stitch: The Series. And here's one to the movie I'm talking about, simply called Lilo and Stitch. So, first let's talk about Lilo.
First, she is pictured above talking about her dool. She likes to pretend her doll's head is so big because a spider laid eggs in it, and now she only has a few days to live. Touching. So, she is living with her single, jobless sister since her mom and dad died in a car crash. Ever since, she and her sister have barely been getting past the social security people and somehow they have made it pretty far. But, Lilo is still a huge outcast. All the people who she calls her "friends"are just bullies, and they clearly don't even like her. Poor Lilo is just too desperate for a friend to notice. Here they are:
And not to mention, the queen bee is a ginger. Now don't get me wrong, the aliens and everything were pretty believable, but a popular ginger? Now that's a little hard to believe. Her two little minion girls were in the background saying "Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh" just to prove ginger's point. What tools. They were so obviously mean to Lilo, but she still calls them her friends. Luckily, Stitch knocked ginger off her high bike and biked away with Lilo into the sunset. Speaking of which, onto Stitch.
Now that is a badass picture if I've ever seen one. This was right after Stitch came down to Earth in a rocket Lilo thought was a shooting star. Lilo made a wish on it, for a real friend. Sounds to me like Stitch is that real friend. Stitch wasn't exactly born, he was created by a scientist. He is an experiment the scientist did (Experiment 626 to be exact), so he's sort of super insanely crazily awesome. He is fireproof, able to shape shift, and he can handle weight up to 3,000 times his size. I'm very impressed, because I can't even do 3 times my size! Every good story needs an antagonist, and since this movie is twice as good as any other, it has two. Well, two main ones, but they aren't bad through the whole thing.
There they are in their human disguises, and they obviously can't shape shift like Stitch can. The guy on the left is the alien expert on Earth, so he came along because he obviously knows what's up. He thinks that Earth is being used to save the mosquitos, which are apparently endangered. "No thanks" says Earth. I wish. Ugg, I hate mosquitos. Anyways, the guy on the right is the scientist who created Stitch. He got in trouble for creating Stitch and got put in jail, but he's also the only one who knew how to stop Stitch. He got released from jail to bring Stitch back, and if he did he would be free. The whole alien race is pretty much after Stitch, but these two are the most important through most of the movie. If you haven't seen this movie you really should, because it will make you smile :)

Chicken Parmesan Makes Me Smile :)
Tell me in complete honesty, is there anything better than the taste of chicken parmesan? No, hang on, do not answer, I already know what you're going to say. Absolutely not. There is nothing in the world better than the taste of melted cheese, tender chicken, and soft pasta. Ugg. Sorry, I'm just a little busy being in heaven right now. Because, if you didn't already guess, I had chicken parmesan for dinner tonight. Which I'm pretty sure you did guess, but either way, now you know. So, you are welcome. If you want to have your own chicken parmesan, here is the awesome recipe my dad used to make it, with a few tweaks of his own of course. Which only succeeded in making it more deliciously mouth watering. In case you want to feel really hungry, here is a picture of my delicious chicken parmesan on a bed of wonderfully cooked pasta:
Yum, right? And believe me when I say this, it was SO yum. I almost forgot to take a picture of it before eating it, thank god I did! Even though it doesn't look as good as it does in real life, I'm assuming that everyone knows how bad the camera can make things - or people - look. I mean, everyone has had their picture taken and wondered why they look like a dying animal, right? Just me? Well ok. So anyways, the only bad part about chicken parmesan is that it takes so long to make it! It decides to fill the house with it's delicious smell for at least half an hour before it's even edible. However, it is so totally and absolutely worth the wait. If there is anything that i will wait an entire half an hour for, it's chicken parmesan. Or maybe pizza. Let's just settle on food in general. So, no matter how long you have to wait, when you get your chicken parmesan I hope you eat it up with a big smile :)

Tourists Makes Me Smile :)
The tourists are coming, the tourists are coming! In fact, they have already come. On the bus ride home from school today I saw countless fur coat, red lanyard, huge sunglass wearing people flooding the streets of Park City. Of course, lots of jokes were made about their pursed lips and huge stilettos, but the most fun was when we decided to actually tell them what we thought. Unfortunately, this thought came around a little late, so only a few tourists were in sight. We gave the job of their humiliation to Nathaniel. Not a good choice. When we neared these two tourists, although there were so many other ways to make fun of them, he chose to say "I don't like your pants." Like, really? That's the best you can do?
Well, anyways, just about half an hour ago I had another run in with some tourists. One was from Michigan, the other from Ohio. The funny thing is that both these men were wearing women's ski gear. The one from Ohio was wearing a scarf. Not even the manly kind! It was kind of embarrassing, but hey, whatever floats your boat. They actually proved to be not that bad, which made me happy because we were all waiting for the city bus, which wouldn't be there for another 20 minutes. I found out that Michigan was here for some promotional thing for his company, who are apparently giving out free veggie burgers and hot cocoa on Main Street. Maybe I'll go sometime. Basically, these two guys have sort of made me like tourists.
I always hope that I might see a celebrity tourist on the bus too, but so far no such luck. I've been especially hopeful lately because Daniel Radcliffe is here this year for Sundance. Oddly enough, I just wrote a post about him about two back saying how much I liked him. And now he's here! I'm pretty sure that it is a sign that I am destined to meet the chosen one. Back on topic, I really doubt that Harry Potter would take the city bus anyways because he could just fly his broom. Not that anyone would notice, because we're all just muggles. Maybe I don't smile at tourists just because they look stupid, but also because they're nice. Or the boy who lived. Either way, go out, mingle, meet some tourists, and of course smile :)

Blizzards Make Me Smile :)
Today, we had our first big snowstorm of the year. It was awesome!!!! Here in Park City, the first big snow of the year is such a big occasion, we get the day off school! Just kidding...but that would be so cool! Anyways, it is still an important event, and it is really fun to look at through the small windows of our school. However, we got a special up close and personal look at the snow when we were forced to walk through it all the way to the high school. Which is roughly...not even a mile. It still felt like a long time, and the snow made it a bit better. Or a bit worse, depending on the way you look at it. I couldn't get a good picture of our snow, so here is another one:
Ahh, doesn't that look just incredible? It is basically what ours looked like, except ours just kept on coming and in this picture snow is at a stopping point. But still, it is an awesome photo, so props to Kim. The best part about the snow is the dramatic effect it gives. It can honestly make just walking or jogging (in slow mo, mind you) around twenty times more intense. If I were ever to film a movie, it would have to have at least one scene where the main character runs dramatically through the snow. In slow motion. Of course, the slow mo is a must. Back to the snow itself, I would just like to point out that snow makes the cold worth while. If it was just cold out, then there's no point in being outside or even having cold. However, if it's snowing, the cold is all OK. Without further ado, I say to you go enjoy the snow! And don't forget to smile! :)

Other Blogs Make Me Smile :)
I came across a few awesome blogs on my quest for the perfect topic. After my long search, I decided that the most fun and entertaining blogs to read were the ones about things people liked and hated. Being me, I figured that I would rather write about things I like. So, here I am with my first post, about other blogs. Because that is the first thing that makes me smile, just reading about other people's experiences.
The first blog I saw was called Let's Overthink This. This was also my favorite blog, mostly because of the title and tagline. The tagline is a quote, "In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you" -Leo Tolstoy. I love this quote because it makes me think about all of the things that we miss because we are looking at or doing something else. Don't you hate how a friend or family member will interrupt you and say "Oh, wow, you just missed the coolest thing!" It may not show on the outside, but I am always wondering just how cool was the thing that I missed or how many inside jokes I would be missing out on because I didn't see it. But, enough on that, the point is that this blog made me smile.
After a lot more searching, I found another blog that fit my topic. It is called Holiday Matinee, and is by Dave. My favorite part about this blog are the pictures. All of their posts have a picture that perfectly fit their topic, or at least all of the ones I have seen. I hope that I can find cool pictures to put into my blog posts, but that might start next time. It is a process, blogging, and I just hope I can get up to speed on it!
The last blog I found was called Tiny Buddha. The author, Lori Deschene, perfectly captured what I want my blog to be about in one of her posts. She wrote about 50 things to love about life that are free. All of my blog posts may not necessarily be about free things, but they will be about things I love. She talks about family, friends, and just all around great stuff. All of this stuff will be what my blog is about, because the things that I love are so important to me and because they are fun to talk about. So, now I proudly present to you my blog: Thing That Make Me Smile :)
